About

Hello, my name is Talon De Freitas and I am currently a grade 12 student at Chaminade College School. Next school year, I plan on attending university to become a mechanical engineer. I enjoy reading, music and being active. Some of my hobbies include taekwondo, playing the violin, and volunteering.

From a young age, I have been driven to work in the sciences. Engineering piqued my interest because engineers solve problems with creative and innovative solutions. Mechanical engineering stood out to me more than the other engineering disciplines because of how versatile and broad of a domain it is. One could work in the space sector, the biomedical industry, the industrial industry, and everything in-between as a mechanical engineer. As you can see, I have a liking for science.

My life is not just facts and formulas, there is still plenty of room for expression and abstract thought. I enjoy reading, drawing, and music. I play the violin and listen to all genres of music. I also read books from historical non-fiction to science-fiction. I have also been drawing/ painting since I was a young boy. I used to make my own comic books and now a can draw portraits, like the one of Frank Sinatra now hung in my house.

This page is just a short summary of my interests/ what I do with my time. I hope you got a sense of who I am and I do hope you will get an even better sense of who I am as you traverse my website.
